Winter 2006/2007 :

Swedish pop overlords Kent worked in Allaire’s Neve Room with producer/engineer Jon Schumann for a Sony/BMG Sweden release. Kent are reputedly the most popular band in Scandinavia. The views may have inspired Joakim, Martin, Markus and Sami, who recorded twice as many tracks as they had planned! Allaire’s Stephanie DuFresne assisted.

Over in the Great Hall, one of Canada’s most popular and longest running (thirty years!) bands, Rush were recording their new album for Anthem/Atlantic. Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson tracked and overdubbed at Allaire with producer Nick Raskulinecz and engineer Richard Chycki. What was initially a two week booking for the band grew into six as the band made themselves at home, eventually making use of both of our rooms. Matt Snedecor, a major Rush fan, got to assist his heroes.

Ever heard of Gospel Chops? Neither had we, but in the world of Gospel music, Gospel Chops is a big deal. Gerald Forrest, the company’s founder, brought an army of drummers and other musicians to Allaire’s Great Hall studio for a drum clinic video. Matthew Cullen engineered with Thom Patzner assisting.

Australian rockers The Kin mixed their forthcoming album in the Great Hall with producer/engineer Nic Hard. Stephanie Dufresne assisted.

Martha Wainwright used Allaire to record some overdubs for her new album with producer Martin Terefe.
